EEE Category 9 - Monitoring and control Instrument

This list of products is taken from the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations. The list is not exhaustive but gives examples of the type of products included in the broader category of monitoring and control instruments.

• Smoke detector
• Heating regulators
• Thermostats
• Measuring, weighing or adjusting appliances for household or as laboratory equipment
• Other monitoring and control instruments used in industrial installations (e.g. in control panels)

Category 9 equipment is presently outside the scope of the RoHS Regulations. However, the Commission is reviewing the Directive at present and it is likely that category 9 will be brought into the Directive in the future.
